Time–Space Conflict Management in Construction Sites Using Discrete Event Simulation (DES) and Path Planning in Unity

Time–space conflicts are one of the most common issues facing construction practices, impacting safety and productivity in several negative ways at sites. Therefore, implementing developing methods to reduce frequency such occurring activity workspaces can effectively enhance project performance. Space is usually a constrained resource sites; therefore, this project, we propose an approach as method time–space conflict management The implements Informed Rapidly Exploring Random Tree-Star (Informed-RRT*) path planning, Discrete Event Simulation (DES), geometry automatically detect resolve projects. To evaluate method’s capabilities, it tested on case study earthwork operation, including loading, hauling, dumping, return phases. Finally, our finds shortest travel duration for each hauling truck between two given starting end points phase without colliding with static obstacles (randomly placed site), intersection trucks’ path, start stop time serving higher-priority activities, total truck’s operation.
